INSPIRING ACTION FOR GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM:

In May 2019. the Northern Council for Global Coopertion signed a four-year contribution agreement with Global Affairs Canada. More updates on this project comming soon!


PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT:

NCGC works to develop awareness and understanding, and to encourage informed citizen action on global poverty issues, with targeted audiences across northern Canada.

NCGC also works to build capacity in public engagement at the national level in collaboration with the Inter-Council Network of Provincial/Regional Councils for International Cooperation (ICN).

Capacity Building:

NCGC supports the capacity-building needs of members and other key stakeholders through workshops, webinars, annual speaker series, Annual General Meetings and other events. These are organized in collaboration with members, volunteers and other relevant organizations or institutions. Learn more about the SPUR Change Program.

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT:

NCGC supports youth interested in international development and global citizenship through educational resources, volunteer opportunities, workshops and more. Volunteer Fair

Volunteer and Carreer Fair: Whitehorse, Yukon 

NCGC supports individuals, organizations and institutions based in the North who are committed to achieving sustainable global development that is democratic, just, inclusive, and respectful of the environment and indigenous cultures.

KEY GOALS:

  • to establish a northern network that will facilitate the advancement of global citizenship,
  • to provide resources, training, and support that enables groups, organizations and individuals to work more effectively, and
  • to recognize and profile northern organizations and individuals and their contributions to international development and global citizenship.
