Capacity Building

NCGC supports the capacity-building needs of our network through our collaboration with the Spur Change Program, Inter-Council Network, periodic webinars, workshops, Annual General Meetings and other events. These are organized in collaboration with volunteers and other relevant organizations or institutions.

“SPUR Change” A program for small and medium organisations The Spur Change program is a 5-year initiative, funded by Global Affairs Canada, aiming to increase the effectiveness of Canadian small and medium organizations to deliver sustainable
results in support of the Feminist International Assistance Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals. The main outcomes of the program are to increase the engagement of Canadian small and medium sized organizations in international development and increase the engagement of Canadians, particularly youth, as global citizens.

Register your organization now in order to benefit from a range of capacity building activities such as:

  • • workshops on the Feminist International Assistance Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals;
  • • specialized training sessions on specific development approaches and tools;
  • • courses on organizational development;
  • • communities of practice; 
  • • roundtables and participation at the annual Spur Change conferences.
In order to fully benefit from Spur Change your organization will need to register here. A Spur Change needs assessment that will be launched in September and a Webinar or Small and Medium Organizations will be held to support the creation of . Code of Conduct to Prevent and Respond to Sexual Voice. Effective September 1, 2019 Global Affairs Canada (GAC) will require all partners organizations to have a code of conduct that prevents and responds to sexual exploitation and abuse in order to be able to submit a request for financing. More Information about Spur Change Program.
